The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a tool designed to assess limitations or asymmetry in movement patterns. The screen consists of seven movement tests which are scored on a point system. Using the results of the test score, weaknesses in movement ability can be identified and exercise programming can be implemented in a purpose-driven method that is oriented towards improving these areas.

How does FMS work?

FMS uses objective and validated standards to measure the movement baseline and build foundations for lifelong movement success. This allows certified professionals to discover the best opportunities to improve movement and identify how to train with purpose and precision in order for individuals to achieve their fitness, sports performance or return from injury goals.

The principles of movement are implemented from the results we derive from the Functional Movement Screen. Screen results provide valuable feedback throughout the training process to ensure we are meeting short and long-term movement goals for lifelong health and vitality.
